HOW ALIEXPRESS BUYER PROTECTION WORKS – SHOPIFY DROP SHIPPING TUTORIAL
Someone asked me how do the Aliexpress buying protection works exactly and in this post I’m going to tell you everything you need to know about it.
It is really important that you understand how it works or you will end up losing a lot of money when you start making a lot of sales.

The buyer’s protection on Aliexpress…How does it work?
It might seem confusing at first but it is simple simple…The buyer’s protection is basically a guarantee that Aliexpress is giving you. It is similar to the protection you have when you buy something on Ebay or similar websites.
There are two main guarantee:
First One: Full Refund if you don’t receive your order. Yep, once you buy an item on Aliexpress, you will see a date that specifies the latest you should receive the item. If by that date you still haven’t received the item, you can open a dispute and then get refunded for the item….
THIS IS SUPER IMPORTANT because as you start doing volume, you will notice tat a lot of your items will get delivered AFTER the latest date, which means you could ask for a discount (if you contact the seller) or a refund for these items! For example, if the client is supposed to get the items by December 30th, but it is now January 2nd, you can open a dispute with the seller and you will get it for free. The item will most likely be delivered in a few days and it is like if you got this item for free.
Second One: Full or Partial Refund if the item is not as described. If your item is significantly different from the seller’s product description, you can either A: Return it and get a full refund, or B: Get a partial refund and keep the item. ATTENTION; Don’t forget that you are drop shipping…Which means you are selling products for a higher price than you paid for! In a situation in which the client tells me the item is broken/or different than in the pictures, I ALWAYS try to avoid a refund.
Why? Because I much prefer sending another item to the client than refunding him or her!!! If you are selling the item for $100 on your website but you pay $10 on Aliexpress, you are making $90 profit. If you send another item to the client (it will cost you $10), you will end up making $80 (the initial $100 minus $20 in products from aliexpress)….BUT IF YOU REFUND the client, you literally lose $100. Which one do you prefer, making $80 or $0? 🙂 You can also tell them to pick an extra item on your website for FREE. I like to do that because most of them are irritated because they have to wait for the shipping again…AND they products are not expensive on Aliexpress so you will end up still making money.
I know people that have virtual assistants scanning through Aliexpress to find items with an expired ¨ date of arrival ¨ so they can get the products for free….If you are a big seller this might be a good idea to implement in your store too.
Also, when someone e-mails you to ask where their items are, make it a habit to go look on aliexpress (if it is over 3 weeks) to see the deadline in terms of arrival. If the date is passed, just get a refund for this item and the client will most likely get the items in a few days so you will end up getting the item for free!
